The Brain in Love

What is happening inside our brains when we are in love? And why do we crave love?, even to the point that we would die for it? To learn more about our very real, very physical need for romantic love, Anthropologist Helen Fisher and her research team took MRIs of people in love — and people who had just been dumped.

Romantic love exists in all cultures, throughout history, and animals also experience love, and yet we know little about this most profound emotion except that almost everyone has experienced it.
